Panasonic SC-BT300 1250W 7.1 Channel Blu-ray Disc Home Theater Sound System

HDTV is easy. Home-Theater sound systems used to be hard but Panasonic has made it easier than pie (ready-made pie). Blu-ray extends beyond HDTV in sound. HDTV has 5.1 channel ability but Blu-Ray offers 7.1 channels. The SC-BT300 boasts seven speakers to envelop viewers in a remarkably true-to-life surround sound experience. The front and center channel speakers are made with a bamboo diaphragm which provides a tightly intertwined fiber to deliver greater rigidity and accuracy, resulting in clear reproduction of sounds over a wide frequency range, from massive explosions to metallic clangs. The subwoofer features a Kelton system with a dual diameter structure to deliver a deep powerful bass. The Smart Set-up guide uses the help of GUI navigation to allow users to set up their SC-BT300 home-theater system for optimum performance. The result is being able to stay at home while enjoying a thrilling, incredibly lifelike audio performance that rivals a movie theater. The appeal of Panasonic Blu-ray products goes beyond the breathtaking pictures and sound; the networking functions open the door to new kinds of entertainment fun. The SC-BT300 can connect to the Internet for downloading bonus content available with Blu-ray Discs and for playing Internet games via BD-Live. This connectivity is further enhanced with the addition of VIERA-Cast. VIERA-Cast integrates the Amazon Video-on-Demand (VOD) online movie rental service. The Amazon VOD service joins other content options already available on VIERA-Cast, including videos from You Tube, access to online photos via Picasa Web Albums, financial information from Bloomberg News, as well as local weather updates. The possibilities are virtually endless. It comes with a Universal Dock for iPod, making it easy for iPod users to play their favorite music or video downloads. This system is also Green-friendly. It has a power-save mode to protect the green in your
Customer Review: A Great System, especially for the price
I was unsure if I should get this system due to the lack of reviews online. Most of the negative reviews I saw complain about the lack of in box wireless but say little about the sound/video. After watching Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, and Planet Earth, I can tell you that the video looks great and the sound is really impressive. Planet Earth looks amazing on it. The surround sound works very well. So far I am really satisfied with the whole setup. I highly recommend the whole unit. The only negative I can find with it is the manual. I rarely read manuals, however, there are a lot of features that are not explained real clearly for non-audiophiles. Therefore, I am not totally sure if I have it setup for the best possible sound/picture. Besides that, I am extremely satisfied.
Customer Review: somewhat disappointed
I bought a SC-BT100 at Costco and liked it fairly well. However, I was not happy to hear that I bought it a few weeks before this newer, better model was available. I bought this one on Amazon for a few hundred less than the BT100. The comparison is not completely favorable. The 100 had wireless rear surround speakers. I assumed the 300 did too. Wrong. All wired and short wires at that. It is an extra cost option and I have no idea where to get them. The sound on the 300 seems a bit less robust than on the 100, but this is subjective. Overall, the price was right and I like the speakers on stands.

Customer Review: Might be a good product but I cannot tell
First the positive. The product is truly plug and play. My computer running XP recognized the drive right away without any software. This is good because the product I received did not come with any software. Additionally, the product I received did not work. The drive would not open unless I used a paper clip to engage the emergency eject and then would not read any discs of any kind. I am extremely disappointed that a brand new product did not work at all. In my opinion, that's a reflection on the craftsmanship. If you're lucky enough to get a functional drive, maybe the other reviewers are correct. My review is a warning that it could be defective and very disappointing. Order at your own risk.
Customer Review: Fast delivery
Delivery was very fast and product works great. Very small and fits into my pouch for my mini laptop. Works great with my EeePc Laptop only problem is the laptop must be plugged in to use this.

Opteka LP-E5 1800mAh Ultra High Capacity Li-ion Battery Pack for Canon Digital Rebel XS, XSi, & T1i Digital SLR Camera

The Opteka LP-E5 rechargeable lithium-ion 1800mAh battery is a replacement for replacement for Opteka LP-E5. It features lithium technology, which ensures maximum battery life and maximum power. It also features no memory effect that lets you recharge partially drained batteries without reducing performance.
Customer Review: A bit of false advertising, but a great replacement!
I just got 2 of these in the mail. They fit my Canon Rebel XS perfectly, just like the OEM battery. They also WORK! :) The only reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5, is that you don't get 1800mHa. I got 1080mHA's, which is the same as the OEM battery. Whatever. For $9.95, these are much better than the $45 Canon batteries! Opteka is a great brand and I trust them for sure.
Customer Review: More pictures/less cost.
At 800 more miliAmp Hours, you'll get almost twice the shooting time of the stock battery. (about 80% more to be more precise) Works perfect with my Rebel XSi. I plan on getting another one and putting them in a battery grip.

LAPTOP AC ADAPTER CHARGER CORD FOR Toshiba AC ADAPTER 75W 19V 3.95A PA3468U-1ACA PA3432U PA3432E PA3380U PA-1750-01 A100 A105 M60 M65 1100 1900

Customer Review: Meh
It does what it needs but its pretty cheap. The rubber covering in a few places has cracked leaving the wires exposed, the plastic casing has cracked along the seam and needed to be taped to keep the internals of the adapter from falling out. Edit. Seriously DO NOT buy this, after half a year of use it just hardly works. For me it takes 3 hours to charge compared to my original which takes an hour and the wire for the plug has to be in a certain position.
Customer Review: Worked at first, but then had problems
While I had misgivings about buying an off-brand laptop charger, I couldn't pass up the price. The item arrived quickly, and seemed to work fine at first. Within 3 months, I started having problems: 1)It started running hot, which I noticed first because the label on the brick came off because the heat melted the adhesive. I just thought it was cheap adhesive and didn't think much of it. 2)The part of the cord that covers the wires inside it separated in 2 places (on either side of the power brick), leaving the wires inside exposed. Because I use this at home, not traveling, and don't move it around much, I thought I could just be careful, and it wouldn't matter. 3)As of today, the power is now cutting out intermittently, and I'm worried it will do damage to my laptop. I have it plugged into a surge-protected power supply, and like I said, I'm not moving this around, so I don't know why this is happening. I sent an email message to the seller today, describing these problems, and hopefully they will offer and exchange/refund. But next time I'll go with the Toshiba charger and pay the extra money.

Yamaha RX-V1800BL 7.1-Channel Home Theater Receiver (Black)

The Yamaha RX-V1800 7.1-Channel Home Theater Receiver offers excellent levels of sound and video quality for total home theater enjoyment. It provides 910 Watts of total power, pushing 130 Watts to each of its 7 channels. With features including Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio decoders, the latest HDMI 1.3a specification support, video upscaling to 1080p, iPod compatibility, YPAO Auto Setup with Quick Start and multi-zone custom installation support, it will become the cornerstone of your home theater experience.
Customer Review: Great bargain while they last. BTB/WTW rgb fixed to.
I recently upgraded to the Yamaha 6190 ( same as the 1800 ) a week ago from another Yamaha receiver, I have previously owned other brand receivers like the onkyo 604 and pioneers as well. right off the speaker connections are very close together and using premade speaker wires bare or with gold crimp on connectors is difficult, banana plugs are the way to go here. I did upgrade my receiver to the latest firmware and did test with one of the BD titles known to have the pop issue, passed. I also tested with a full rgb source to look at the btb/wtw issue but if you do calibrate our tv/monitor correctly it is not a really big deal and the bd titles I have tried do not show any issues nor via my pc in most situations but I can produce problems if I tried to increase gamma or brightness to high on subject matter that uses full rgb. So next I popped in a music cd and immediately noticed that the difference in loudness between this and some older units, the 1800's inputs are slightly less sensitive than some other receivers and does not sound as loud. While not as loud it is alot clearer and supports all the latest audio formats that you will generally need. I did increase the levels to compensate for the loudness and that seemed to help but it was a slight letdown in what seems a generally fine unit. Edit. Yamaha has released a firmware update to fix the BTB/WTW clipping issue, the receiver now passes full rgb via hdmi or component, it still will not upscale any signal input via hdmi or do OSD via HDMI but this is not really needed if your feeding it an HD signal ( why mess with the clean HD signal ). The receiver is basically now the equal to the newer 1900 less a few features that you may or may not need. There is still an issue with the presence speakers not outputting any sound when bitstreaming dts master audio to the receiver but if you choose any of the matrix modes they work. So I have my sony 42" 1080p lcd, my bluray player, directtv, PC and cable box all into the receiver, no sync issues and no problems, it does get a bit hot with the volume cranked up loud ( I mean really loud ) but no worse than any other receiver so far ( alot cooler than an onkyo ). So now what was a great bargain just got even better.
Customer Review: Excellent next-gen home theatre hub
I recently replaced my old surround set up with a Polk 5.1 configuration, using RTI-A7 fronts, RTI-A3 rears, a CSI-A6 center and a PSW505 sub. I had been running these through a Yamaha RX-V659, which is a very nice receiver, but I wanted something with a bit more high-current ability to drive the new speakers. I also wanted a receiver with HDMI inputs that handle both audio and video for the best possible sound and picture for HD A/V sources. I did a lot of research on a number of different products from Denon, Onkyo, HK, Pioneer and the like, but I ended up settling on this one. I had been planning to replace the old unit a few months down the road, but when I stumbled into one of these brand-new-in-box at a large electronics superstore for an almost surreal $599, I took the plunge. Pulling it out of the box, the build quality is exceptional; the RX-V1800 weighs a good 40 lbs. It's a pretty big piece of equipment, measuring 17" W x 17" D x 7" H. Make sure you have space for this. Everything feels very solid, and Yamaha claims its ToP-ART design technique creates virtually no additional signal distortion to incoming/outgoing signals. Looking at the back of this thing may cause headaches for some. For an amateur audiophile like me, it's fantastic. The RX-V1800 has every connection type you can think of, highlighted by 4 HDMI inputs/1 output and 4 optical inputs/2 outputs. It has multichannel analog inputs for SACD/DVD-A. There's an iPod jack for the optional Yamaha YDS-11SL iPod Dock, which I also purchased. In addition, there's a port for XM connection (I do not have XM so I can't comment on it). There are still plenty of component inputs and analog inputs for those with older devices that do not support digital connections. The speaker terminals are made of metal; they are well-built and feel solid. The vertical layout of the terminals can make it difficult to use traditional wiring, and for many banana cables will be an easier way to go. You can wire a total of 9 speakers + sub using this receiver, which is basically standard 7.1 with 2 additional "presence" speakers added to the left and right fronts (only 7 can play simultaneously, however.) Just to clarify - this receiver is NOT network ready. There is no ethernet port, and there isn't a USB port for connecting external hard drives, etc. For me, this isn't an issue - I have that functionality with the PS3 - but for some, it may be a requirement and hopefully this will eliminate some of the confusion due to the misleading product description on this page. The different settings are too numerous to list, and I haven't had the item long enough to finish reading the entire manual (which is just as monstrous as this receiver). But of the most importance to potential buyers is the RX-V1800's ability to decode Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio, along with any older encoding method you can think of. It can handle incoming decoded high-resolution PCM. It also supports HDMI 1.3a and can pass full 1080p. This is perfect for next-gen AV, as it can decode/handle any advanced multichannel format there is, including Blu-ray, HD-DVD, SACD, DVD-A, etc. This is perfect for me: I can run my PS3 through a single HDMI cable to the receiver out to the TV in full 1080p video, with Linear PCM/TrueHD multichannel audio humming through my Polks when I play Blu-rays. There are a host of sound field settings available on the RX-V1800, some of which emulate concert halls, arenas, and clubs, others which are specifically tailored to TV/Movies/Video Games. These are marginally useful. I typically only use these programs with jazz and classical CDs - the Concert Hall and Jazz Club sound field programs are numerous and quite nice, adding surround ambience to stereo discs, which I like. My favorite settings however are Straight for AV and especially Pure Direct for Audio only signals. This shuts down all other processes (including the display) except the amplifier and sends the signal direct to the speakers with no additional processing. This setting really makes SACDs and DVD-As shine. In terms of power, the RX-V1800 is a beast. It can pump out 130W x 7 RMS, which is as much power as most normal people will ever need. It seems (at least to me) to have a fuller sound than the RX-V659 did, which I attribute to the additional reserve power this unit has under most conditions. As such it's perfectly equipped to run multizone, configured with either one (7.1), two (5.1 in zone 1, stereo in zone 2) or three different zones (3.1 in zone 1, stereo in zones 2 & 3). I really like the fact that the different zones are powered by separate amps. The remote control is standard Yamaha - in other words a mess. And this is coming from a someone who has owned (and liked) Yamaha components in the past. Setup itself is not very difficult (setting levels, speaker distance, etc.) but I still haven't figured out how to control the finer points via remote. I haven't used the second "zone" remote, so I won't comment on that. I also haven't thoroughly tested out this receiver's video upconversion, but it seems OK not great. DVDs played through the PS3 connected via HDMI to the RX-V1800 to my Samsung LN46A550 46" 1080p LCD HDTV appear to be of similar quality as compared to connecting the PS3 via HDMI straight into my TV (the TV also has a decent upconverter). EDIT: 1/9/09 - after carefully examining the manual, the upscaling only works if you hook the incoming device up with component, S-video or analog connections. HDMI passes signal as-is. After hooking up my Yamaha DVD-S1800 upscaling universal DVD/DVD-A/SACD player with component video in to the RX-V1800, I can safely tell you the upscaling to 1080p is very, very good. Look and feel is actually quite nice (this is sometimes a problem for Yamaha as their products tend to be built for function above form), with a black brushed aluminum front and ample ventilation grilling on top. A metal faceplate hides many of the on-deck controls when closed, giving the item a smooth and uncluttered profile. I have thoroughly enjoyed this receiver thus far, especially playing SACDs and Blu-rays in lossless 5.1 multichannel sound. It's really let my Polks show off their large dynamic range in a new way. Overall this receiver is excellent. It offers just about any features you could possibly want, and it was an unbelievable value for me considering the deal I stumbled into. I know I'm not taking full advantage of all of this receiver's capabilities, but I consider that a good thing. As with the speakers, I plan on keeping this receiver for the foreseeable future, as it's somewhat future-proofed and can be scaled to any size room (or rooms) I would ever need. I don't have space for 7.1 right now, but when I do I feel pretty good about bringing this receiver along with me. Recommended, especially if you can get it for below list. If not, you can get much of the same functionality with slightly less output from a Yamaha RX-V863 for a lot less.

Customer Review: No Better than the 7.2 Mega Pixel Model
I have been using the Sony DSC-W55 7.2 Mega Pixel Cyber Shot for over a year now, and have been very pleased with it. I wanted to upgrade to something that would provide me with more pixels, and hopefully better pictures. Unfortunately, after testing it I found the quality of the pictures from the two cameras to be nearly indistinguishable. I am returning the camera and sticking with my old one. The three stars may not be fair, though, because my old 7.2 MP camera is priced much higher than this new 12.1 MP camera. I do not understand why. Be aware that the additional megapixels, even for the same model of camera, may not make much of a difference.
Customer Review: Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W230 12 MP Digital Camera with...

Customer Review: Great Customer Service
The wiring came loose and shorted the unit. Osprey-Talon's customer service was quick to respond. A few emails back and forth and they readily sent a replacement unit. It arrived today, a mere three days later.
Customer Review: Product worked for only a month
As mentioned in the other reviews, this isn't exactly the same as the OEM adapter but I didn't notice too many slowdowns. It was however disappointing that the product died after only one month.

Customer Review: Perfect Traveling Companion
I bought this little Asus 1000 to carry with me on my many motorcycle adventure trips. I wanted the ability to either transfer funds; pay bills while away, communicate with friends and relatives via my email capability and store the many photographs I take along the road during my trips, without having to worry about carrying multiple cards for my digital camera. My biggest concern (or worry) was not having MS Windows and all of its attractive software to go along with me. I had never used Linux, nor did I know much about it. So therefore, it actually scared me. But being the daring individual I am, I bought it anyway! I am so happy with this little system, I will try my best to list the many features that makes me feel the way I do about the little Asus 1000. The very first thing I noticed about it, is how clear and bright the screen is. It's almost as nice as my high-end Mitsubishi LCD HD television. Next, you can't help but notice how long the battery lasts. Although I have not actually timed it, I know I watched two full movies with my wife while I played with the functions and surfed the internet and I still had about a third of its time left on the battery. Wanting to test the wireless ability, I took it to my wife's place of employment where it captured 18 different WiFi signals, some as far away as 3-4 football fields. It plays music and videos perfectly, even without Windows Media Player. Nothing special to do, just click on a video that was emailed to you and it plays instantly fast. I really like the internet radio system it comes with. While camping at a KOA, I found over 20 stations that I liked, with three outstanding Country stations that I listened to with my head phones on while reading my email from friends. Although it has not yet happened yet, the only problem I can foresee is if someone sends me an email with a .doc file attached, I will not be able to open or read it because I don't have MS Word loaded. But that is fine with me. I use the Word type program to write my emails, being able to use spell check, then simply copy and paste to my email for sending. Some other little things I really like: PROS: 1)Very attractive case. 2)Small and portable; easy to pack away. 3)Super long battery life 4)Bright, clear and HD like screen. 5)Boots from startup in less than 20 seconds. 6)Shuts down in about 10 seconds. 7)Pretty much "Virus" un-impregnable. 8)Case holds Net book, charger, cables, memory sticks and mini-mouse. 9)Long range distance on the WiFi. 10)Bluetooth enabled 11)All programs very user friendly and upgradeable. 12)3 USB ports 13)Large keyboard for a net book. 14)Easily added addition 1Gig of RAM, making it 2gig. 15)Great unbeatable price & very high quality!!! CONS: None
Customer Review: Xandros --- SUSE
*The toy is very nice and mobile. *The small screen makes it harder to keep my spine straight. *I did not like Xandros --- some problems appeared right away. **I changed it to openSUSE and it is works very well now. For installation follow HOWTO on openSUSE wiki (SuSE install from USB drive) After that add SUSEee repository in Yast and install fan control.

Customer Review: Love it!
A great camera. Took clear, crisp pictures all the time. Easy to use and carry. I would recommend this camera.
Customer Review: Takes some getting used to, but good camera!
I tend to wonder about the other reviewers who complain a lot about this camera. With each new camera and change in technology, there are bound to be differences and things you will have to get used to. First off, I took 400 photos at a concert on a single battery. However, because the ISO can be set to 3200 (which most smaller cameras can not!) I did not need to use the flash at all! I am sure, if you are not willing to increase the ISO, the flash will, as with all cameras, eat through the battery pretty quick. My only complaint so far, and I have had this camera for 3 months, is the location of the zoom. I feel this was placed a bit low on the screen and takes some true getting used to. The screen responce can get sluggish, but I have found this to me true when you have a large number of photos on the card. When flipping through the 400 photos I took, it was pretty sluggish, but when I was flipping through 100 or so, it was just fine. I have also compared my photos with my D200 (I take outdoor photos) and I coudl not tell a difference...and neither could a prof. photographer who I sent my photos to for editing. All if all, this is a great camera! It takes some getting used to, but I have been very happy with my 3 mo. using it.

Spec Check
  • 16-inch LCD screen (true 16:9)
  • 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo P8600 processor
  • 500 GB hard drive
  • 4 GB RAM (8 GB maximum)
  • Dual-layer Lightscribe DVD±R drive
  • Draft-N Wi-Fi (802.11b/g/n) and Bluetooth
  • Nvidia GeForce 9600M GT graphics (up to 2302 MB total)
  • Windows Vista Home Premium (64-bit)
  • Weighs 7.06 pounds

The Basics
  • Processor: Experience improved energy efficiency, expanded wireless connectivity, and amazing battery life with the 45nm Intel Core 2 Duo P8600 processor featuring Intel Centrino 2 technology. This processor has a 2.4 GHz processor speed, super-sized 1066 MHz front-side bus (FSB), and a extra-large 3 MB L2 cache. (An L2, or secondary, cache temporarily stores data; and a larger L2 cache can help speed up your system's performance. The FSB carries data between the CPU and RAM, and a faster front-side bus will deliver better overall performance.)

Formerly codenamed Montevina, Intel Centrino 2 processor technology improves upon every facet of a laptop's main features, including performance and battery life via new processors and chipsets, faster draft 802.11n wireless, and new business-class manageability capabilities. The new hafnium-infused circuitry--which reduces electrical current leakage in transistors--conserves even more energy, giving you more time away from the wall outlet.

The Intel Core 2 Duo processor has two computational execution cores in a single processor, providing greater system response when running multi-threaded applications simultaneously with no significant increase in power consumption. It's optimized for multitasking and it can run multiple demanding applications--such as graphics-intensive games or serious number-crunching business productivity applications--while downloading music or running virus-scanning security programs in the background.

  • Hard Drive: The extra-large 500 GB Serial ATA (SATA) hard drive (5400 RPM) offers a wealth of storage space, perfect for storing a vast multimedia collection or for editing digital video. This SATA hard drive also quickens the pace with a higher speed transfer of data--akin to Firewire and USB 2.0.

You'll enjoy enhanced hard drive protection with HP's Protectsmart, which includes a 3D accelerometer that safeguards your data by parking your hard drive if your notebook detects any range of motion, such as being knocked off your desk, falling or taking abuse.

  • Memory: The 4 GB of installed RAM helps boost the amount of available video RAM that's shared with this notebook's video card. This notebook has an amazing 8 GB maximum RAM capacity (4 x 2 GB). To receive the faster data transfer benefits of the dual-channel DDR2 RAM, any RAM additions require memory modules of same capacity and clockspeed.

  • DVD/CD Drive: This multiformat DVD/CD drive is compatible with writing both DVD+ and DVD- disc formats as well as dual-layer (DL) DVD+/-R discs, which can store up to 8.5 GB of data. It features 4x DVD-R DL Write Once, 2.4x DVD+R DL Write Once, 8x DVD+R, 4x DVD+RW, 8x DVD-R, 4x DVD-RW, 16x DVD-ROM, 40x CD-R, 24x CD-RW, and 40x CD-ROM speeds.

This LightScribe DVD±RW drive lets you laser-etch silkscreen quality text and images on to CDs and DVDs . Your software, PC and discs work together for a no-hassle way to burn just the labels you want. After you burn content, just flip the disc over, reinsert and burn your label--anything from a simple title to a full-disc work of art.

  • Keyboard & Mouse: This notebook has a 101-key keyboard (with integrated numeric keypad) and a touchpad with on/off button and dedicated vertical/horizontal Scroll Up/Down pad. It also includes two quick-launch buttons (HP QuickPlay Music and DVD).
Screen, Video & Audio
You'll enjoy razor-sharp graphics and widescreen movies with the 16-inch WXGA high-definition screen, which has a widescreen resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels--a perfect 16:9 aspect ratio for watching DVD movies the way they were meant to be seen. Video is powered by the Nvidia GeForce 9600M GT graphics/video card, which provides 512 MB of dedicated video RAM and offers up to 2302 MB of total available graphics memory as allocated by Windows Vista. Enabled by PureVideo HD, movies come to life with outstanding picture clarity, ultra-smooth video and vivid color. The lifelike images have up to six times the detail of standard DVD movies. Delivering state-of-the-art graphics performance, The GeForce 9600M GT graphics card is sure to give you the power and performance you crave to play the hottest DirectX 9 and DirectX 10 titles. Its 16x full-screen antialiasing technology delivers superior quality along with astounding performance and since it's optimized for Windows Vista.

The Altec Lansing speakers provide exceptional sound, and it also includes SRS Premium Sound. You'll be able to privately share enjoyment of multimedia with a friend via the dual headphone jacks.

Networking, Connectivity & Expansion
Be ready for the next platform in wireless connectivity with the integrated quad-mode Wi-Fi chip. Based on the draft 802.11n Wi-Fi specification, it offers up to five times the performance and twice the wireless range as existing 802.11g wireless. It's also backward compatible with 802.11b/g networks (commonly found in home routers and Wi-Fi hotspots) as well as 802.11a networks (which has a higher throughput, but more limited range--great for closed office environments). With the integrated Bluetooth connectivity, you can communicate and synchronize with Bluetooth-enabled peripherals such as PDAs and cell phones.

It also includes a next-generation ExpressCard 34 card slot (replacing the PCMCIA slot), which lets you take advantage of thinner, faster, and lighter expansion cards for even more advanced wireless, networking, storage, and security features. It comes with the following external connectors:

  • 1 ExpressCard/54 slot (also supports ExpressCard/34)
  • 2 headphone jacks
  • 1 microphone jack

Customer Review: It is nice but don't like the reflective screen.
I had an IBM Thinkpad for several years and moved up to this HP. It is fast, nice and has everything you could want but the shiny highly reflective screen is not a good thing. You have a terrible time seeing anything if you are outside using this HP. If you are inside and near windows or lots of lighting the screen is often difficult to view. The reflection is very disturbing and wondering if there is anything you can do to minimize or elimanate the glare of the screen, I wish it had the non glare screen that my IBM Thinkpad had, it was much nicer and easier to view.
Customer Review: you don't want to buy this
Problems to install adobe programs are real, it does happen! Glossy screen truly sucks, all you can see is your reflexs as a mirror! The whole thing seems to be pretty cheap, feels very plastic and key buttons are not even nice! i had it for one day and inmediately sold it for a hundred dollars less, still i think that's better! I got an alienware instead, of course for doble the price but i already learned the lesson, If it's cheap it's not a bargain, it's probably not so good! Besides HP is a company that is all about ads! You know what comercials do in people's mind, believe me, this machines are not worthy!

Customer Review: Video works well but don't expect accurate colors
I bought this cam about a year ago. It has worked decently for me on any OS I have used it on, Linux, XP, and Vista. The IR leds only turn on when you turn off the lights, which makes sense to me as it is IR. The video quality itself is decent, there is minor blur in the actual feed, doesn't do well with motion though. The real deal breaker for me was that the colors weren't accurate at all. Burgundy comes up as baby blue for example.
Customer Review: Pls do not buy
Please do not buy, it is waste of money. I bought it and it refuse to work, just blur.

Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HDTM Lossles surround sound provices Greater cable bandwidth for support of Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD lossless surround sound, available on Blu-ray DiscTM and HD DVDTM movies.
Customer Review: Good Cable
Just got it in and hooked it up to my PS3 and 1080p plasma. I had a $125 monster HMDI hooked up to it and switched them back and forth and could tell no visual difference. have not tested the audio yet, but I don't think there will be a problem. Good cable. I got the 15' cable and it seems to be working fine. Save some money. Get the cable. I give it 4 stars just because I am nervous that it is not doing all that a more expensive HDMI cable would do. I have no evidence to suggest that it is not doing a wonderful job, but the "rest-easy" factor just isn't there. Try it the most you'll lose is $20.
Customer Review: No Picture
I have tried this cable with my computer and xbox and still no picture. I tried a shorter cable and works great. Not sure if its the cable or length but either way this cable isn't working.

Customer Review: Most of the issues have been addressed
I bought this server on sale about two months ago and have not been disappointed with its basic functionality. For PCs, it has worked flawlessly as an image backup server. For media, it's fantastic to have my movies, music and photos centralized in a reasonably safe place. Additionally, the server is VERY expandable (storage size), which is a distinct advantage over the second gen which does not support eSATA port multiplication (recognizing multiple drives on one port). It also will automatically check your iTunes collection, and add new songs, if you can't be bothered to organize your music manually to the server. For Macs, you can mount the server shares as separate drives and save to them just as easily as any other drive on your Mac. Most of the PC functions are not available to the Mac (auto backup, etc.) but the user community is large and helpful via many forums - you can find workarounds. The console is available by web browser. Later models of the server (EX485/7), do a somewhat better job of integrating with Macs than this model and the processor and memory are more appropriate for digital media serving on a large scale in the home. You'll probably want to upgrade the memory for this server as soon as you can - dealt with in the user community forums/blogs very well. However, I can't really say enough good things about the server, but it is important to note that many of the negative reviews regarding the server deal with issues that have been resolved within the past year. This is a great entry point if you want to make your home digital media centric. Hope this helps.
Customer Review: DO NOT BUY THIS SERVER
My HP EX475 MediaSmart Server developed a loud noise after only 15 months. I was suprised to discover that HP DOES NOT OFFER POST WARRANTY SERVICE SUPPORT & DOES NOT PROVIDE PARTS FOR REPAIR. I now own a $700.00 paperweight. HP does not mention in their sales literature that it does not offer out of warranty service and it does not tell you that it will not sell repair parts to other service vendors. So......DO NOT BUY THIS SERVER......not only is it prone to failure, you cannot get it fixed.

I Can See Clearly Now
The 5.8-inch widescreen touchscreen on the AVH-P3100DVD allows you to enjoy all of your music and videos in style. Sick of having to search through your music song by song? Now you can scroll through your music at the touch of a finger.

iPod Made Easy
Simply plug your iPod directly into the unit using the CD-IU50V iPod cable, and you're ready to rock and roll. Touch-slide scrolling, alphabetical high-speed search, album art, and improved link search make it easy to find your music.

Bring Your Music to Life
Hear the detail, warmth, and clarity the way the artist intended it, from all of your highly compressed MP3, WMA, and AAC files. By restoring data that tends to get lost in the digital compression process, Pioneer can make your music sound close to CD quality.

Smooth Operator
Controlling your movies and music has never been easier. With a smooth swipe of your finger on the touch-panel display, you can fast forward and rewind audio/video content. (Note: The touch-slide fast forward/rewind function is not available on iPod.)

Now it's Personal
Select among five display colors and 112 key panel illuminations to match your car's interior lighting, color, and design. You even can set your favorite JPEG file as wallpaper. Parked with no place to go? Now you can enjoy a slideshow of your photos on a CD or USB device.

Get the Blues
Fed up with your Bluetooth headset? Here's a better hands-free solution. Use the available CD-BTB200 Bluetooth adapter and your Bluetooth-enabled cell phone for easy, safe, and hands-free operation. The unit acts like a speakerphone, channeling the sound through your car speakers, which makes the call sound better. It also automatically mutes your music so that you'll never miss a call. (Note: CD-BTB200 adapter is required.)

Other Features
The AVH-P3100DVD also includes features that are designed to expand your system, customize your experience, and provide both superior sound quality and easy operation, such as:

  • built-in AUX input for your media devices;
  • two RCA high-Volt pre-outs for adding external amps and speakers;
  • built-in MOSFET 50 W x 4 amplifier for excellent sound quality, minimal distortion, and efficient power handling; and
  • supertuner IIID advanced analog and digital processing to ensure superior imaging, less distortion and noise, and stronger, smoother broadcast signal reception.

Customer Review: 2nd time directly from Amazon-Great Radio
Second time I have had to purchase this car DVD/radio, due to the first purchased unit not being sent by the seller(filed a claim with Amazon). The second time I purchased the radio directly from Amazon. I am very please with radio and my direct experience with Amazon. Sellers with lower prices my not always be the best way to go, purchasing directly from Amazon was much simpler and less stress. This radio does everything it is suppose to do. What is up with the clock(military time). The touch screen is wonderful and it looks great in my Frontier.
